Fathers, if you don't know where to start; begin with switching the TV off and making a scheduled time for you to read aloud to your family. Aim for at least once a week. The Book Tree is a wonderful resource. The authors recommend books that can be used to read to your family. Some great family reading books include The Chronicles of Narnia, The Pilgrims Progress and many others. If your children are young; don't assume they will not understand anything. Persistence will be necessary. You may need to start with a few minutes of reading and then call it quits. If you are diligent they will love it. But realise that it will take effort and time on your behalf. Please email me if you would like help selecting a reading list. Be diligent, keep at it and build a family culture of loving to be together. This can be achieved through instilling a love for stories and learning in your little ones.
