Christians sending their children to government schools are sinning. To send your child to sit under the tutoridge of unbelievers is totally absurd. Let's be frank - why would any Christian desire to have their children in a school system where the stated objective of that system is to teach the child what to believe about man, the world and religion? Why are teenagrers rebelling and droves upon droves of Christian children turning their back on the faith? There is a level of complexity to answer the question in full. However, when Christian parents demand that their Christian children are to walk in the counsel of the ungodly, stand in the path of sinners and sit in the seat of the scornful (Psalm 1 ), for the majority of their childhood hours what do we expect? There is a means to shape how a child will walk when he is older: training that child in the way you want him/her to go (Proverbs 22:6 ). If that training is drenched in anti-Christian humanism then all things being equal that child will walk as an unbelieving heathen when through the education process. This does not remove the obligation of Christians to be faithfully obedient to Jesus Christ in every area of life. Covenant children must be given a Christian education.
