First, watch this video and see how Victoria has some of the most appalling abortion laws in the western world. Yes, that is Victoria, Australia. The same place as the MCG and the heart of AFL. In fact, financial institutions clamber for real estate in Collins Street, Melbourne. Watch and see how this top Australian state positively legislates for the "legality" of killing children late in or out of the womb:

Yes, you heard right, Victoria has some of the loosest abortion legislation in the Western, Christian world. Does this shock you dear reader? Or are you aloof of these matters as you believe they do not affect you? Well, I am here to tell you that abortion affects everyone in this country. We all fund, via our taxes, the killing of between 70,000 and 80,000 babies per year (2005 figures quoted from the Vic Government's, The Better Health Channel). Blood is flowing from the most innocent in our society. God deals with individuals, families, societies, nations and churches. Biblical Christianity is not individualistic. God redeems people, families and nations. This reflects His triune nature. As Western, rationalistic Christians we find it difficult to think and live within a trinitarian pattern. God is the one and He is the many. Neither aspect of God's being detracts from the other. At the same time He is one, He is many. At heart this declares the covenantal relationship between the persons of the Godhead. Each is covenanted to the other by way of relationship. This covenantal, trinitarian structure permeates society. It flows through the Church out to the corners of the world. Humanity is made up of individuals and the whole of all peoples. As the sovereign, God took hold of His special people and separated them out from the world. To these people He has declared His Word, which redesigns their authority structures and sets ethical rules for all of life. These ethical mandates come from the Scripture and form the basis for living obedient lives; to which God provides a multi-generational inheritance. Australia was founded upon Christian principles. Our laws originated in English Common Law, which was founded upon King Alfred the Great codifying England's Law from the Law of God. We have drifted from our heritage; turned our backs on our first love. Many Australian Christians don't join the dots. God redeems individuals, families and nations. He likewise judges individuals, families and nations. In other words, God covenantally judges due to corporate disobedience.
A womb is the most unsafe place for a baby to be in Australia. Why? Abortion on demand. The blood of innocent life is being spilt on our soil. We are all somewhat responsible. Especially the Church. I hear no clear, strong nor unified message of protest from the Church to the state. Why? Worship is slack in this land. Evangelical churches seem to desire seeker friendliness. The problem is not with the friendliness but whom we believe the seeker is! The Bible is clear that no man seeks God, all have turned away and no unregenerate man looks for Jesus. God is the seeker in worship. He seeks the worship of His people. So, our worship must be transformed from rock bands, pop groups, guitar heroes and casual beach times to becoming seeker friendly to God. Worship must be done in faithful obedience. If it is not we bring strange fire and will be consumed in judgment. Our mindset of minimal liturgy, structure and formality = spiritual is absolute Biblical nonsense. God is orderly, throughout His Word He commands how we ought to approach Him. Nowhere is this revealed as flippant nor disorderly. The corporate worship of God, in the Scripture, is always preceded by prayerful preparation, planning and order. Corporate worship on the Lord's Day is different from worshipping as an individual or family. It is the time when we come up into the highest heavens, before the throne, with innumerable angels and all the saints to reverence our mighty God. It is a time of heavy joyful worship not light hearted, cafe style entertainment. As moderns we must remember this. It is not all about us and our comfort. All through the Bible, even the New Testament, people fall on their faces when they meat with God. So, yes we go to worship our Father and He is an all consuming fire. He is not interested in modern self-centred, individualistic man seeking worship. How do I know this? Well, God says that judgment starts in His household. Jesus walks among His Churches and removes the candle stand from the unfaithful servants. Finally, the moral condition of society reflects the condition of the Church therein. If we look at our land through a covenantal/trinitarian lens we will fall on our faces before God, beseeching Him to revive and reform His Church here. Australia needs men with the courage to stand and fight the principalities and powers of our times. It starts in worship. The Reformers knew this and changed society through worship. Another aspect to this killing of babies is the place of the avenger of blood. "What is clear from Biblical theology is that innocent blood shed on the land calls up the avenger of blood. The blood of the baby boys thrown into the Nile when Moses was an infant turned the Nile to blood 80 years later, which called up the Angel of Death, the Divine Avenger."1 In the book of Revelation "it is the blood of the martyrs that calls forth the Divine Avenger and the seven libation bowls of wrath. Jesus does not avenge His own death, but He avenges the murder of the members of His bride. This is the event, or summation of events, that necessitates the destruction of Jerusalem, which 'kills the prophets' and upon whom the blood of all the innocent from Abel forward was to be placed (Mt. 23:34-38; Rev. 6:9-11 ). The blood, the wrath-wine of God, is to be placed upon Jerusalem; thus, it is collected in bowls and poured upon the city."2 God is in the process of judging the Australian Church. It is terrifying. Just look around you. But, God always preserves a remnant. He requires faithful obedience from us His people.
I highly recommend you look into the Choices of Life site. Mr Coleman does educational lectures in schools around the country to raise awareness of this issue. He does a wonderful job. Invite him to your school, Church or Bible study. Mrs Sherrin Drew supports this ministry and is a long time advocate for the life and rites of the baby in this issue, I highly recommend her blog as well. Remember the Christian who hides his talents is condemned by the Lord (Mt. 25:14-30), inaction is sinful but not all people can do all things. At least commit to praying and approaching you minster, pastor and/elders over what action your church is taking.
