To engage in the current Australian debate over the definition of marriage Campbell Markham, a minister in the Presbyterian Church of Tasmania, organised the hosting of a public address on the subject. The campaign, Saving Marriage, took place at the Stanley Burbery Theatre on Wednesday 30/03/2011. Jim Wallace, MD of the Australian Christian Lobby (http://australianchristianlobby.org.au/), Dr Andrew Corbett (http://www.andrewcorbett.net), from the Tasmanian Family Institute, and Senator Guy Barnett, gave spoke to the subject of saving marriage. Time was also devoted to questions at the end of the evening. Upon arrival at the venue it was clear that news had travelled, a group of pro-homosexual protesters had gathered. To the organisers, participants and protestors' credit the evening was not marred by violence.
